Thus i decided to download crack and play with it until windows vista/7 comes out - on windows vista/7 the game with that crack crashes with exception every time. I have bought earlier (as i remember, it was 2006) retail copy of EAW and EAW FOC, but both disks (EAW and FOC) was protected by f***ing buggy starforce DRM.
I've done things like this so I could play Civ IV against my brother. That way you essentially have a retail copy of the game, but the CD key in your registry will be the legitimate Steam one.
